The Hot and Sticky Launch of Moo StickerBooks

Moo StickerBooksYesterday, Moo (the guys behind the nice Moo-Minicards) launched their new product called “StickerBooks“. To celebrate this joyful event they had invited anyone who wished to come to their launch party - promptly named “The Moo Hot and Sticky Summer Party”.

Melinda and I were one of the first people to arrive, and lucky enough to get a free sample booklet from the organizers. I think that Moo is spot on again with their product, totally understanding how much of a social animal we all are. The booklets do not only look stunning, they also have some nice features that I didn’t expect to see.

Moo's Hot and Sticky Summer PartyWith the StickerBooks Moo has correctly observed a couple of facts that they learned from the Moo-MiniCards. Their main reason for producing the StickerBooks was the ongoing request from people for Moo-stickers, but I think that Moo also observed the phenomenon of people exchanging Moo-cards online and offline for fun. When you go on Flickr for example, there are entire groups of people exchanging Moo cards for the art or photos on the back, and not for the info on the other side.

The first time I noticed this I was amazed, but I think this inspired the guys behind Moo to make the StickerBooks a real social object. The way they ended up enforcing you to exchange stickers with other people is by making it easy to collect other’s stickers in your StickerBook. When you flap the front cover totally around the booklet, you have places for 14 other stickers from your friends. When I had the booklet in my hand and noticed this the first time, I thought it was simply brilliant.

Moo StickerBooksEvery StickerBook is filled with 90 sticker of either your own design or predefined packs. If you want you can use 90 different Flickr/Bebo/Vox/etc images to make 90 different stickers. You can also get pre-designed packages, but what is the fun of that if you can put your own face on them! One StickerBook costs £4.99/€7.49/$9.99 and the shipping is free if you order in July. I’m ordering mine now!
